With our Alderney fishing trips complete for another year, now is the perfect time to take a look back at our time spent in the Channel Islands over the course of 2018.
Like most years, we predominantly targeted flatfish during our trips to Alderney with plenty of Brill and Turbot making an appearance along the way.
Fishing at Anchor
Besides from drifting the banks we also fished at anchor whilst waiting for the tide, which saw a variety of species come over the side. There were plenty of good sized Bull Huss, Rays, Bream, Tope, Congers, Wrasse and the elusive John Dory.
On the steam there and back we tried our hand at some wreck fishing which produced some fantastic results with both Cod and Pollack landed.
As always, all of our trips to the Channel Islands this year have been great fun with a great bunch of lads. Alderney fishing trips are an excellent option if you are looking for a fishing holiday in the UK or to try something a little bit different.
Alderney is incredibly beautiful and perfect for exploring and socialising after a long day at sea or during the day if you decide to schedule some sightseeing like one of my groups this year.
