Dolphin Watching Boat Trips from Weymouth

The waters surrounding Weymouth and Portland are rich with marine life. As such, it is often possible to catch a glimpse of rare sea birds, jellyfish, sunfish, seals and dolphins from our Weymouth charter boat. Whilst we don’t specifically offer dolphin watching boat trips aboard Snapper Charters, we regularly see dolphins during our sightseeing and fishing trips, particularly The Durdle Door, Ships & Wildlife trip. We treat our trips as a sightseeing trip offering magnificent views along the Jurassic Coast. Any wildlife sightings are simply a bonus!

We don’t actively go in the search of dolphins, but we’ve got good eyes and a keen interest in wildlife, so if they’re about, we will bring the boat to a stop and spend some time watching from afar (when time allows). Over the years we’ve enjoyed hundreds of encounters and experiences some absolutely incredible sights! We like to keep our distance though, there is nothing better than watching nature in its natural habitat.

Dolphin Sightings in Weymouth & Portland

We are avid nature lovers ourselves and have a good knowledge of the various species that frequent our shores. We have worked with numerous wildlife organisations, including NatureTrek, Marine Life and Shark UK. We’ve also hosted camera crews filming for BBC Blue Planet UK.

Wherever possible, we’ll try to give a few facts about any of the species we encounter in an informal way. There are children’s binoculars on board and we encourage younger members of the family to keep there eyes peeled at all times - you never know what you might see. There’s also a few species guides, with photos of the various species that live in British waters.
