With a great run of weather this spring, that seems to be continuing on into the summer, we’ve been able to take full advantage of the early season flat fish. The flatfish fishing has been steady with the turbot and brill throughout the year so far, with plenty of personal bests being beaten along the way. We are hoping that the long standing 45CM minimum keep size among the local charter boat fleet is beginning to make a difference.

The plaice fishing has been a little bit more difficult with the fish only wanting to feed when the conditions are absolutely perfect. Small tides and clear water are a must. It has been very important to get the tackle right, we have found ourselves tying trace after trace to get the guys fishing effectively, but it has paid dividends with plenty of plaice coming to the boat up to 5lb.

The season for plaice is nearly over but we will continue to fish for turbot and brill through out the year. We have limited space remaining this season but are already taking bookings for the 2020.

Please get in touch if you would like any more info on the fishing trips we run on Snapper or to enquire about availability.
