Whilst we love fishing, we realise it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and have decided to try something a little bit different aboard Snapper this season. Throughout the summer we will be running two Jurassic Coast sightseeing boat trips, aimed at getting people out on the water to enjoy the Dorset coast.
Leaving from Weymouth’s harbour, one trip will head east past Weymouth Bay to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Mupe’s Bay. The second trip will go west around Portland Harbour, before continuing to Portland Bill lighthouse and Pulpit Rock.
Weymouth to Mupe Bay
The first trip will begin by taking in Weymouth’s historic Georgian esplanade before following the cliffs past Ringstead bay to Durdle Door, a UNESCO world heritage site. Whilst Snapper is a little bit too big to fit through the door itself, we will stop here for photos and to admire the overwhelming size of this geological phenomenon.
Next we will continue our journey to the horseshoe shaped Lulworth Cove, which is famed for its beauty and unique shape. We will end the evening at Mupes Bay before taking a faster ride back to the harbour. Hopefully we will catch a glimpse of a stunning sunset on the journey home!
Weymouth to Portland Bill and beyond
The second trip will head west past Portland break water and then continue around Chequers Fort to the Grove and Church Ope Cove. We will steam close to the beautiful coastline before reaching the jewel in Portland’s crown, Portland Bill lighthouse.
Snapper is a 10m catamaran fully liscenced to carry 12 passengers and up to 2 crew. She is a stable vessel perfect for taking photos throughout the journey and offers ample room on deck. These will be relaxed trips perfect for all members of the family.
If you would like to come aboard Snapper this summer on one of our sightseeing trips please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you! Alternatively, if you’d like to give fishing a take a look at the variety of trips we have on offer!
