With the wind looking like it’s going to put a stop to our last bookings of 2019, we’ve had time to look back through notes and photos from this years fishing trips. What a year its been !
Here’s our 2019 round up of fishing and sightseeing trips aboard Snapper Charters!
Unbelievable fishing platform
It was our first season with the new Snapper, previously RW TWO. She’s never let us down and proved to be an unbelievable fishing platform, handling seas better than any other boat I’ve been on. Her vast deck space simply soaks up larger groups, which made her perfect for angling clubs, stag do’s and family fishing trips. The wheelhouse and bench seating has made all passages comfortable, whether we’re moving fishing grounds or on our popular Durdle Door sightseeing trip.
Perfect flattie fishing
The fishing has had its ups and downs as every season does. The early season flatties were abundant, when conditions allowed, with plaice to 5lb and some good turbot coming up throughout the year.
The bream fishing was on fire and seemed to just get better and better as the season went on. We had a good run on the bigger species such as tope and congers throughout the year with plenty of personal bests being beaten.
A fantastic summer of half day fishing trips
Our summer was very busy doing our half days trips we had plenty of laughs and some great catches. It was the best year we have seen in a long time in the Channel Islands with our trips to Alderney producing plenty of great fish of all different shapes and sizes. The local restaurants and accommodation were perfect as always.
We have now decided to crack on with Snapper’s winter refit to take her to the next level of passenger comfort. The upgrades include a new galley, new diesel generator and wheelhouse heating.
