This season we have seen some cracking turbot fishing on board Snapper with more magic doubles than any other season we’ve fished. We’ve had plenty of personal bests beaten and some very happy customers on board.
The numbers of fish didn’t disappoint either, with huge numbers of smaller fish showing up in the spring and continuing to come up through out the season. The 45cm minimum size adopted by all respectable skippers is certainly having a positive effect on the local fishery. Tackle and bait has paid a huge part in the success Snappers anglers have had on the banks with everything from the breaking strain of the braid mainline, leader and trace to the size and shape of the hook and weight up for scrutiny.
The fishing has also been on the up over in the Channel Islands, after a couple of quiet years the turbot and brill seem to be returning to the famous banks around Alderney and Guernsey we have had some very enjoyable trips this year and look forward to next year.
