Update for 2024: We have changed boats again and now have a South Boat catamaran.

We’re delighted to announce we’re expanding our boat fleet for 2023. Snapper Charters will now consist of two vessels – Snapper and Jurassic. Both will be operational for the spring and summer season after a full refit.

The decision was made to sell our catamaran to fund this new venture almost a year ago. In the time since, we’ve been on the look out for two vessels that matched our extensive shopping list. It was important that we maintained an excellent standard of boat to uphold the fantastic reputation we built over the years.

Two new charter boats

We finally settled on an Aquastar 40 and a Lochin 38. Both boats are respected in the industry and considered work horses of the sea. The new Snapper and Jurassic are monohulls, with ample seating and all the home comforts you’d expect from a modern charter boat, including cabin, toilet and galley. If you’ve been on the previous orange Snapper, you’ll be pleased to know the deck space is comparable, promising a comfortable and stable platform at sea.

We haven’t compromised on speed with the new vessels – both are dual engined to put you on the fish quickly. Snapper will continue to run fishing holidays to the Channel Islands in addition to inshore, wrecking, evening and half day fishing trips.

As many of you will know, we’ve expanded our offering over the past few years to include sightseeing boat trips along the Jurassic Coast. Having two boats will enable us to run an increased schedule, with more spaces and increased variety. Like Snapper, Jurassic will run a mixture of half day and evening fishing trips. She’ll also venture to Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Portland Harbour on our scenic cruises.

Expanding the team

In order to run the second crew, we’ve had to expand our team. Luke will now be joined by a host of local skippers – including a couple of faces you’re bound to recognise if you’ve enjoyed boat trips out of Weymouth in the past.

We’ll keep you updated over the coming months and share photos of the refit process. We look forward to welcoming you on board to experience our new boats for yourselves!

We’re extremely happy with our new venture and w’re sure you’ll be too!
